Iron Steamer///PKS public beach access: a bit of swell has filled in overnight: surf is in the waist range w/bigger sets lurking. SW winds are making it sloppy but there are some ridable peaks.
The old pier w/its unique offshoot over the Iron Steamer made for a good right that used to be a staple for Emerald Isle and Atlantic beach surfers. The pier is gone but the Steamer remains (buried). There is still a sneaky wave here and a (pay in season) parking lot. It’s not got the glory of years past but at least some of the area was preserved for public access.
