Deer Horn Dunes: just a tiny sliver of swell making its way to the beach: surf is about a foot w/way too much wind to allow it to break. Dr. Bogus has been updating the local water temperature and has it pegged at 55 ( you may want to check your collection of rubber).
Tomorrow: a new Spot-check///Today: Story-time… Back to yesterday’s location at Sportsman’s pier: we were running a surf contest between the piers. In a stacked longboard heat the contestants gathered around the stubby piling like it was the Holy Grail… except for one person, Hunter Lupton, who cast his lot right next to Oceanana pier. A set came to Oceanana and Lupton cherry-picked a long winding left that deposited him almost to where the rest of the heat was battling it out. He made the long paddle back, caught another gem and left the rest of the contestants in a fight for second place.
