Report location: Oceanana Pier. The tail end of our SW swell from yesterday: mostly knee w/some bigger sets early. The waves got less consistent as the sun got higher.
This is normally a spot that will give you that bonus morning after a big SW blow. It’s also a favorite when you have a large SE swell and a NE wind. Unlike the West end of EI the NE wind grooms the waves here nicely. There used to be a nice setup here when Sportsman’s pier was standing a short distance to the West. Still a decent wave here and there’s a bit of variety with the way the sandbars are positioned. When it’s on, it’s a crowd favorite.
